The Sri Lanka Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC) was established in 1991 as the apex body in the technical and vocational education and training sector under the provisions of the Tertiary and Vocational Education Act No 20 of 1990. . Its primary responsibility is policy formulation, planning, quality assurance, coordination and development of tertiary and vocational education in the country. It comes under the Ministry of Skills Development and Vocational Training.
SIBT has been accredited as a registered training centre since 2003. (Registration Number P01/268)

Since 1970, Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) has been promoting marketing excellence and elevating the status of marketing in Sri Lanka. Subsequently incorporated by an Act of Parliament in 1980, SLIM is a member of the Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka and of ESOMAR, the Federation of Marketing Research Industries. SLIM is also a member of the Asia Marketing Federation, which is affiliated to the World Marketing Association.
SIBT has been an accredited delivery centre for the SLIM professional qualifications since 2007 and was recognized as the best accredited study center in 2008.

The Institute of Bankers, Sri Lanka (IBSL) is a statutory body incorporated by Act of Parliament No. 26 of 1979. The Institute is an approved charity under section 31 (9)(a) of the Inland Revenue Act No. 28 of 1979. The Institute is the successor to the Banker’s Training Institute established in 1964.
SIBT has been an accredited delivery centre for the IBSL Examinations since 2010.

ICDL Sri Lanka is the sole licensee in Sri Lanka for ICDL certification. ICDL Sri Lanka provide dedicated support to a network of Accredited Test Centres, and are responsible for the delivery and quality assurance of certification programmes offered by ECDL Foundation, the global governing body. Their mission is to enable proficient use of ICT that empowers individuals, organizations and society, through the development, promotion and delivery of quality certification programmes.

The Institute of Certified Management Accountants (CMA) of Sri Lanka was incorporated in April 2009 as the National Professional Management Accounting Institution in Sri Lanka by Parliament Act No.23 of 2009. CMA was set up in the year 2000 with Technical Assistance of CMA Canada.
SIBT has been an accredited delivery centre for the CMA Examinations since 2014.

The Federation of Information Technology Industry Sri Lanka (FITIS) is the voice of the Sri Lankan Information and Communication Technologies “ICT” industries. It comprises of companies and ICT professionals representing Software, Hardware, Education and Training, Communication services and Professional service segments of Sri Lankan ICT industries. BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT is a professional body and a learned society that represents those working in Information Technology both in the United Kingdom and internationally. Established in 1957 it currently has over 82,000 members in over 100 countries. The BCS offers several Qualifications in IT, one such Qualification is the BCS – CIIT Higher Education Qualifications (HEQ). Candidates who have successfully completed the qualification can proceed to Masters in IT or even Management with Local Leading Universities or even with Foreign Universities.
SIBT is an approved centre (registered) for BCS HEQ.
